EDF and Corona Energy retained as suppliers to TEC’s energy supply Frameworks

We are delighted to announce that TEC’s 6th generation flexible energy supply Frameworks have been awarded to EDF for electricity and Corona Energy for gas.

Following a complex and rigorous procurement process, made even more challenging in light of the energy crisis, the incumbents’ success in retaining these frameworks offers the greatest benefits to our membership. These include improved access to innovations in energy efficiency, demand response and carbon management, supporting members in their carbon reduction journeys.

TEC worked in partnership with London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) in managing the procurement process. The tenders were evaluated by 23 experts including a selection of TEC members with varied specialisms across procurement, sustainability and energy management.

EDF and Corona Energy have been awarded the contracts for an initial two years from October 2024, with an option to extend.

Steve Creighton, Head of Member Services, said: ‘We have put a lot of work into the delivery of a procurement that really does meet our member needs for energy risk management, long term renewable power options and active contributions to the carbon reduction efforts of our member estates. All of this has been achieved despite the formidable challenges posed by the energy crisis and other prominent global issues affecting the supply market.’

Raghav Singh, Director of Large Business at EDF Business Solutions said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded the new electricity supply framework with TEC for an initial two years. The agreement demonstrates the high level of service and added value that EDF will deliver for TEC’s Members.

We are excited to extend our strong partnership with TEC and support the TEC Members on their journey to reduce carbon.”

John-Mark Carnall, Key Account Manager at Corona Energy said: “Corona Energy are honoured to have retained and renewed the TEC gas framework from Oct 24. This underpins all the hard work made over the past 4 years to implement and improve in all areas of service and cost savings delivered to the valued Members. We look forward to continuing the collaboration with TEC to maintain the highest of standards and keep looking at innovative ways to deliver more.”

The Frameworks provide members with benefits across procurement, risk management and carbon reduction solutions. They enable access to zero carbon and renewable backed electricity, along with full audit and certification to support carbon reporting.
